How to Measure EMF and Keep Yourself Safe

Did you know that an EMF reader is one of the best ways to? Originally used to detect faulty wires and electromagnetic fields, these devices are now considered staples of ghost hunters around the world!

However, they are much more effective for their original purpose. You can measure EMF to detect another kind of invisible monster: electromagnetic fields. Measuring magnetic fields and radiation is a great way to keep your home and yourself safe in a world that’s rapidly becoming more electronic.

Detecting these invisible fields is the only way to limit your exposure. Read on to learn more about how to get the full picture of your surroundings!

What Is EMF?

Electric and magnetic fields, EMFs, are emitted by all our electronic devices. Devices like X-Rays and CT scans are also common culprits for creating EMFs.

There are two primary types of EMF in the world: high-frequency EMFs and low/mid-frequency EMFs. High-frequency EMFs can damage your body on a cellular level with significant amounts of exposure. This kind of EMF comes from medical imaging devices, the sun, and tanning beds.

Low and mid-frequency EMFs are generally harmless unless there’s a large amount of exposure. These EMFs can be emitted by all your appliances from washing machines to microwave ovens. Even your cellphone gives off an EMF.

Power lines can also give off these radiation fields. In addition, the earth has a natural EMF.

More specifically, wireless devices like your laptop, phone, radio, and TV give off a kind of EMF known as radiofrequency radiation. This kind of radiation isn’t as outwardly dangerous as nuclear energy, but over time it can have some negative effects.

How to Measure EMF

If you’re able to measure EMF at home, you’ll be able to see exactly how much EMF you’re exposed to. Chances are it’s much more than you thought!

You can do this by picking up some EMF measurement equipment. We love this one from www.emf-protection.co.uk. It’s one of the best EMF measurement tools because it can give you an accurate reading of both radiofrequency radiation and EMF.

With an EMF measuring device, you can detect:

  • Mobile phone radiofrequency radiation
  • Cell tower radiation
  • Appliance EMF emissions
  • Wi-Fi radiation
  • Aircraft and automobile EMF
  • Plumbing EMF
  • and more!

Understanding how much and what kind of EMF you’re exposed to will help you get a clear picture of your surroundings.

What Should You Do About EMF?

If you find a lot of EMF in your home, there are a few ways to reduce your exposure. Start by moving your router at least 20 feet away from where you work or sit. Also, opt for a wired phone in the house and disable your Bluetooth devices when you’re not using them.

Measure EMF to Be Proactive About Your Health

While EMF is invisible and you can’t feel it, your body knows it’s there. Your body will react on a cellular level to this kind of radiation. And, it’s almost everywhere.

The best way to be proactive about your exposure is to measure EMF and get a clear picture of your environment. If you enjoyed learning about EMF, you’ll love our other content! For more tips and how-tos, check out our blog!
