Are you having a good Memorial Day weekend? Our weather has been less than ideal for all the festivities, but we’ve managed some fun anyway. Between rain showers our days have been filled with making box forts in the front yard, a soccer tournament, working in the garden and some good time with Nana.
Now that the boys are out of school we are in full summer mode. A couple of weeks ago, we made our summer lists. At that point school wasn’t out yet, but our minds were already on vacation.
A few years ago, in an effort to make the most of our summer breaks, we started making summer lists. It started as just one big list, but as the boys have gotten older they have chosen to make their own. Each list contains 10 things…places to go, people to see, new foods to try.
We’ve had some fun adventures thanks to these lists. I’m excited to see what this summer will bring….
Ben’s list and mine…
Samuel’s…
and Henry’s…
What summer adventures do you have planned? Any favorites we should add to our lists?
Happy Memorial Day!
Alison

I love these lists.
You’ve inspired me to actually write out our family’s list. It seems like we have a million great ideas swirling around in our heads each summer, but we don’t accomplish all of them. This might help!
Nichole,
It’s fun…I love to see what the boys will come up with. It has made for some great summer memories!
I want to go to Callaratow too!
Me too! Only 45 days…but who’s counting?
this is so nice! I love the idea of these lists… sitting together and thinking about plans for the summer, what could be better? Thanks for sharing!
Hi Alison!
I saw that #2 on your list was the Boulder Farmer’s Market. My husband, daughter and I just moved to Denver and frankly are kinda disappointed with the fruit and vegetable selection here. Have you been to the Boulder Farmer’s Market before and would you recommend it?
Allison,
I haven’t been to the Boulder market before. My family and I spend a week in Colorado every summer so I thought we’d try it. I’ve been following them on fb, it has looked pretty good in pictures. I’m so sorry to hear you aren’t finding good produce! Where did you move from?
We moved from Nashville,TN home of sweet tea and all things fried! But there was also a great produce selection at Farmer’s Markets. In Denver though, it seems that there is more emphasis on homemade things rather than fresh produce. I think I’m gonna give Boulder a try though. I’ll let you know what I think, but that may be a while since the 7 month old isn’t much of a traveler and Boulder is about 40 minutes from Denver.
Wow! That is quite a move Allison! Let me know what you think of Boulder…if I get there before you I’ll fill you in.
I just love Sam’s list. Your kids are so darn cute!
Great idea. I’m going to do the same with my family this summer!
