So…are you getting ready for Thanksgiving?  Thankfulness is sure in the air with all the wonderful thankful posts everyday on facebook and instagram.  I think the focus on gratitude is just one reason I love this time of year.

With less than a week until the big day I’ve started making my lists…for food and suitcases.  We will be traveling to family this year.  I’m looking forward to good food, family time and a trip to the river with my dad and boys.

It’s been a couple weeks since I last shared a few of the things I’ve been enjoying lately.  Maybe it’s all the gratitude in the air, but I had a long list of things to share today.  Here are just 5…

1. DesignersCare

I love it when people use their talents to help those in need.  A group of talented designers have come together to do just that, by opening an Etsy shop selling art cards and stationary.  All proceeds go directly to the Red Cross to help those effected by Hurricane Sandy.  They would make a perfect gift for the holidays.  I ordered some myself  and look forward to sending them to friends.

1.  Anne of Green Gables

I read Anne of Green Gables in the sixth grade and fell in love.  It wasn’t just that she had the “plight” of red hair and freckles that I did, it was her endless imagination and stubborn ways that made  her feel like a kindred spirit.  Now older, I know longer feel that the color of my hair or freckles are a burden, but continue to love Anne for her creative ways and strong spirit.  If you haven’t read Anne of Green Gables, you need to.  It is the perfect book to snuggle up with on a cool autumn day with a quilt and cup of tea.

I’m ready for the weekend, how about you?  There is so much to love about fall weekends.  I’m hoping for some apple picking, some football watching and some good family time.  We are also on countdown to a quick trip to the mountains next weekend.  So much to look forward to!

It’s been fun sharing these little bits of the things that are crossing my path and making up our meals and our days.  I hope you are enjoying them too.  I’ve sure loved hearing about what you all are up to…as always feel free to share!

Well, here we find ourselves at Friday again already.  Halfway through September.  Beautiful (much needed) rain and cooler temperatures have settled in the last couple of days.  Although I know it won’t last, it seems a nice preview of the autumn days to come.  This week’s list of bits & pieces is an eclectic mix of what I’ve been enjoying these last couple of weeks.  As always, I hope you’ll share a few of your own…

I know posting has been sparse around here the last few weeks.  Recovering from our vacation, sending the boys off to school and diving into a full, fall calendar left the days overflowing late into the night.  And me?  Well, I was falling asleep on the couch not long after the boys were in bed.  Not so good for blogging, huh?

Now that we are settling into a more manageable groove, I am looking forward to spending more time here.  I have legal pads that have pages scribbled with ideas that I want to share. There will be a few changes in months to come, some more noticeable than others, but all of them good.  The first is a new series, starting today, called Everyday Bits & Pieces.  I hope to share a few things each Friday of what I’ve been loving, what caught my eye on the web, instagrams from the week, a little bit of this and that, so to speak.  I hope you’ll enjoy it. If you have any ideas, or things you want to share, feel free to put them in the comments for us all to enjoy!

So, without further adieu…
