Homemade Nacho Cheese Sauce

Yesterday marked the end of another school year. I can hardly believe how fast it all went, seems like we were just buying school supplies, and now here we are making our summer bucket lists. It’s all good though. We are ready. Ready for a slower pace in the mornings, summer adventures and time at the pool.

While I look forward to warm summer days, and time together at home, there’s usually a bit of trepidation too. It’s only a matter of time before the bickering sets in along with, ’Mom, what are we gonna do today?’ followed closely by the ever popular, ‘Mom, I’m hungry!’

Buttermilk Pesto Dressing

The sun in finally shining here today. Finally. Despite the thin layer of frost, it feels like maybe spring is going to try and make an appearance. It feels like we’ve been waiting and waiting…counting down to spring days, waiting for the our favorite parts of this season to begin….

Simple Egg Pasta

As many parents know, when it comes to feeding our children it often feels like the job is never done. Feeding the 3 boys in my house is like trying to fill a bottomless pit. They are always hungry. Fortunately, we are able to put food on their plates for 3+ meals a day. They have no idea what it really means to go hungry.

This is not the case for many children.

Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

Welcome to March! Can I just say, that although I know this month can still bring some snow, the fact that it is March 1st means that April is only one month away. And that means SPRING! This week more than any I’ve heard more people say that they are tired of winter. ‘Tis the season I think. Stores are full of spring colors and clothes. There is talk of Easter and gardens. And in 9 short weeks, I’ll be running my favorite spring half marathon. Each week I cross off the training calendar brings sunshine and warmth just a little closer.

Creamy Tomato Soup

Is it spring yet? I keep seeing these kind of comments and status updates posting on Facebook. They make me smile a little each time I read one, as the thought has been frequently crossing my own mind lately, but I’ve been trying really hard not to complain.

I’m just going to be honest…winter is not my favorite season. The cold settles into my bones and I literally ache from the chill. Most days from now until April I’ll have a warm mug of something nearby. It helps, but so do the 3+ layers I’m wearing. No, I’m not kidding.
