Usually, with snacks, I like to try to make as many as I can. When I buy them I like the ingredient list to be short, nutritional and full of ingredients that can be pronounced by my 10 year old.
A few weeks ago the kind people at 18 Rabbits asked me to try some of their granola bars, called 18 Rabbits, as well as their new line, Bunny Bars. I happily said yes and they sent me a box full of samples. My kids are a tough sell when it comes to granola bars. I haven’t found many that they will eat, aside from one recipe, that we make over and over. I was eager to see what they would think of 18 Rabbits.
To get to the point…they LOVED them.
Flavor combinations like Cheeky Cherry Chocolate (our over the top favorite) and Haute Diggity Date had them asking when we could order another box. As Ben ate a bar aptly named Funky Figs and Cherries he said he couldn’t believe how much he loved them. Samuel and Henry agreed.
But the best part was feeling good about giving my boys granola bars made by a company using whole, organic ingredients with sweeteners like honey and maple syrup. Just looking at the bars you could see beautiful pumpkin and sesame seeds, alongside the chunks of dried fruits and nuts.
Our annual vacation to Colorado is coming up in a few weeks. As I asked the boys what they wanted for snacks on our hikes these bars were one of their first suggestions. I couldn’t agree more.
Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did.
